Thursday finds me wasting time in the earthly dimension with an iPad.
Up to this point I have quite liked it. Played a few games, sent a few mails and watched a spot of TV. I had not used one before and so did not have anything to compare it with. The screen is sharp and colourful. Actually machinery-bob is responsive and fast.
Well today I took a punt on the latest copy of National Geographic. Blimey Charlie, now we are cooking with gas.
Very impressive indeed.
The new issue has some great footage and writing about the Titanic (one of my long standing modern history interests along with 9/11).
Splendid nature type stories and reports.
Video reportage and the like which I didn't expect.
A talking magazine; I feel like one of the Jetsons.
I have been sat on the fencing when it comes to these kindle and tablet capers but I can now see the attraction.
The only drawback I can see so far is that I won't be able to store a lot on the iPad. Being the cheapskate I am I had to get to the version with the smallest memory.
So now, knowing my love of a good fad, I will probably be buying crampons, a brightly coloured fleece and a box of NASA space-age sealed snacks to go on adventures around the back streets of Hereford.
I may be gone rather a long time...
Until my next post I remain your humble servant;
Bush tucker Prycer
Pictures from National Geographic (obviously)
Thanks NG.
