Two lovely, gentle people. We need more of this quality.

Walking home through town mulling issues over.

I realise that I am always at risk of appearing out of touch, naive and irritable with my community but surely…..

Manners.

Despite my numerous faults and flaws I try to remain well  mannered, generous of spirit and courteous. 

Unfortunately this seems to be a dying way of life.

Here we go again..

Indulge me readers.

A few to start off. There will be more.

Cyclists; please, if you are over the age of 10 don't ride your bicycles on the pavements. If you look to either the left or right (depending on your direction of travel) you may notice a much wider space especially for you. It will enable you (splendid) and your fellow pedestrian (effervescent) to reach your chosen destinations in harmony and reduce accidents with each other. Ideal eh?

I object to be given the stink eye by your bad self as I take up too much pavement and obscure your missile-like trajectory. At nights how thoughtful of you to wear a miner's pit torch on your crash helmet to reduce accidents whilst cruising at a steady 20 mph toward me. The irony of wearing a skid lid whilst on the pavement is not lost on me either.

Don't spit on pavements.

Don't empty your pockets of your empty 10 Benson packets, red bull cans and other rubbish onto the path. 
Use. A. 'Bin'.

(I'll stick my neck and say that you may be the type of lady or gentleman who criticises their very own community for being a fecally degraded aperture).


Graffiti 'artistes' please try harder. Nobbo; I appreciate that you "was yer"  but could you expand a little? Some artwork perhaps? A little stencil, colour? Poor effort son really. 

Be kind and considerate. 

Open doors for others.

If you are in a queue with one other person in front of you and they open another till nearby why not tap the person in front to let them know of this opportunity?

Manners are free everyone.

Try yours out.

They may even enable you to achieve the "respec' innit mate'' that you so desperately seek.
