Construction.

Out for my daily constitutional today.
Whitecross road has some fine architectural treasures and man made delights.
Wanted to share this you. It encapsulates a man's right to design and construct his own vision.
We all need to give a little back to our communities don't you think?
A water feature to be proud of.

As a side note the chap who is responsible has a little dog who sits looking forlornly out of the window at this monstrosity. His owner must puff on at least 40 capstan full strength a day as the room is so full of smoke it looks like an SAS embassy raid.
I'm reliably informed that the pooch is taken out for walkies regularly which is something I suppose.

  1. I took a photo of this many moons ago and sent it to Viz, but it must have got lost somewhere/thrown out by the cleaners, as they didn't print it (time to try again, me thinks). It is a thing of great beauty and I marvel at it every time I pass.
Have you see that door in Union Street which someone has painted silver (probably at night under the influence of everything)? It shows beautiful brushwork.

  2. I'm very impressed with this man's obvious talent and eye for architectural design, i am wondering if snakey had an influence in the brick flower pot againt the wall.

  3. I wonder if he is accepting commissions? It's quite obviously a post-modern deconstructivist take on inspiration derived from the Coliseum in Rome.

A similar piece, perhaps paying homage to the Bull Ring, GCHQ, the CERN particle accelerator or indeed any other landmark roundish building would provide marvellous balance in our garden. In scenes reminiscent of Trafalgar Square and the 4th plinth, the gap left by the smashed patio table could finally be filled, and the foursquare symmetries of rotary washing line, rusty barbeque and Butler Sink full of fag butts & fox shit fully restored.

Right, just time for a tommy tank whilst looking at pictures of myself.

  4. How can you describe that? You can't - it's impossible. You just have to experience it. To gaze in wonder at that magnificence and elegance. Having set eyes on this photo, it is a moment that i will remember for the rest of my life. It is one of the greatest sights in the world, maybe the greatest, and like Victoria Falls, The Taj Mahal and Macchu Picchu - it simply is one of those things as human beings we have to see. The architectural grace and symmetry of this just takes your breath away. Imagine if you can the painstaking and arduous task of painting all those Accrington bricks Sky blue/Grey. Puts me in mind of Romes Colosseum. Truly inspiring.

P.S. Why are you walking round taking snapshots of peoples property? Is this normal in "The Shire"? Do you not have police?
