Gonzales.

Recently had some 'time out' to get my philosophy back together.

Taking things back to basics and enjoying the good things and people around me.

Thanks. You know who you all are. Gratitude, via gifts, will be swift.

More than this is my genuine personal gratitude for watching out for me.

Anyway...

Have been listening out for this Gonzales fellow for a while now.

A man of many talents. Some chapters I like, some not so much.

His first solo piano was lovely stuff.

A few weeks back got the second. As good. Gentle. well written. Nothing discordant or challenging. Just the ticket.

Found myself actually being able to relax and let the music wash over me. Sat in the Slipper chair with Parsley seemed to be the perfect recipe for anxiety management.

These albums are just Gonzales on piano, his own  compositions , Played perfectly. Nothing too fancy.

You can hear his fingers hit the keys, the recording room ambience and the foot pedals being tapped.

I must admit I found myself, at times, staring out over the fields wistfully reminiscent of a 1980s yellow pages advert.

If you do have a spare few quid get yourself both. (Boomkat have the deluxe version for around £7.00)

I recommend it.

Oh and don't forget:

  1. Agreed. I don't like his "other" stuff, but these two cds are immense

  2. I bought A Winged Victory for the Sullen last week. Wonderful. How do some people do it?
