Sixto.

Aloha you.

Game changing day today.

Most enjoyable.

Before I begin a background morsel.
A few years ago I stumbled on what was to become one of my all time favourite tracks. 'Sugarman' by a singer called Rodriquez. Simply a great record. It it was on an early David Holmes compilation

I often include it on compilations to friends (you may well have it).

Today I watched 'Searching For Sugarman'. What I thought was going to a simple music documentary turned out to be so much more. I'm sure some of you hipsters are way ahead of me and already know the story. Stay with me.

The film (NOT movie) twists and turns from initially a gentle tribute to a talented songwriter to an intriguing detective type search for an enigmatic, elusive singer from the 70s.
Where did he go? Hugely popular in South Africa (500,000 copies of his debut LP sold) but then apparently shot himself on stage or set himself on fire (depending on who you asked).
I'm not going to go into too much detail as I wouldn't want to ruin the story for you.
It is  a superb documentary.
Entertaining, educational and left me a little moist in the eye department. (May have just been a bit of dust...*manly cough*)

I'm chuffed because I can now go to bed tonight cosy in the knowledge that I have been thoroughly entertained by a beautiful looking film. I have  heard some new/old music with  two absolute belters which will sit up there with 'Sugarman'. ('Cause' and 'Crucify Your Mind').

A 24 carat Prycer recommendation.

Well worth a punt.
