Birds.

She never ceases to amaze me.

Is there no end to her skills?

Pia loves birds.
She keeps a small pair of binoculars by the landing window.

I am often awoken from my slumbers with a shrill cry about a new sighting of a gang of sparrows, shifty magpies or some playful tits (don't - you're better than that)

She has now unveiled her new art project:

'Tweetment'

It seems she has a impressive talent for pencil and charcoal sketching.

You know those incredible lithographic, almost photo realistic book illustrations you occasionally see? Well my girl is obviously is going to eclipse all those artistic charlatans.

Check out volume 1 of her work.
(I think it's what she leaves out in detail that is her trademark).

Leaves you wanting, nay craving, more.

Ladies and gentleman I am siting on an ornithological goldmine.

At times I think that she may be poking fun at me and having a laugh at my expense.

Then I look at the the quality and just know....

Even without colour the vivid plummage comes alive on the page.

What looks like a botched rubber mark is in fact a savage indictment on the perfect boundaries of a feathered pecking order (arf!) that the chaffinch fights against.

(well if bloody Tracey Emin can do it so can Pia)

Artist's favourite.
Deliberate spelling mistake *hmmm*
Perhaps a statement against the double edged nature of the rob(b)in.
He is felt in our household to have a hidden evil, almost sneaky, edge.
This has been clearly brought out in this fellow's expression.

Personally i think the picture speaks for itself and the title is unnecessary.

I mean it's obvious what it is isn't it?

Limited edition art cards currently in post production.

  1. Lol! That Robbin looks like he's on a mission! I'm looking forward to any drawings of insects or butterflies.

    1. I'm not sure she will accept commissions. She's one of those hoity-toity artistic types.

  4. I agree with thedickfromabove*, that Robbin looks like its walking into a fight "I'm the daddy round 'ere San". If I could make a suggestion, why not do the sketches without the names, "Guess that bird" I'm not the arty type, but the work on show is very good. Excellent cooking and a talent for the arts, you've copped lucky there mate!

    * His username and in no way a slight on the previous poster...
