Embalmer.

I don't make a habit of buying bootlegs but for this I made an exception. This little treasure came on to the radar a few years back.

Like many of us I am partial to the film (not movie) of 'Withnail and I'

Classic is a word far too overused but this English rose can wear the title proudly and with no doubts.

I bought the soundtrack which held me in good stead for a while. The real essence is the dialogue and so I couldn't resist this.

The Embalmer'

Somebody put this together with real love and care.

It comes with a really well printed fold out cover, an essay on the film, full printed C.D inlay and colour printed C.D
label.

So much better than the official  release.

What makes it really special is the actual recording. Sharp production with full music soundtrack (some tracks and incidentals were missing on the official release) but with at least half of the dialogue expertly dubbed in-between. It's so good to listen to it in one go and it flows so well. Has all the laugh out loud moments. Great.

So whoever you are I thank you.

If anyone wants a copy well obviously I abhor bootlegs and can't condone home taping but...drop me a line. Perhaps we can talk.

  1. Nice one, I've got this and bought it after hearing your copy. The guy we got it from made them to order...I think it's long gone now. Classic stuff.
