What does it say about me that this is one of my all time
favourite clips...?
Some of you may remember Tiswas but this little belter was from it's blue-r late night sibling OTT. I used to watch it on a black and white Sony TV in my bedroom. I used a national health hearing aid and turned the contrast down so if my mum came in she did not realise I was watching 'unsuitable' programming.
I often wonder if i could ever muster up the courage to have a go at it. Our Christmas parties are getting more bizarre by the year so never say never.
Letissier, Mr Jolly fancy a dance?
Great clip.
ReplyDeleteI used to sneak a viewing of this whenever I could, but it all ended when I fell asleep with the TV on and my dad burst into my bedroom to be faced with an on screen naked woman in a bath...in black and white. Happy days.
Ahh, the joy of a furtive late-night telly peek. Alas, OTT often escaped my net, but the endless pubescent quest for TV T&A left no stone unturned.
ReplyDeleteRemember when Channel 4s Red Triangle season promised forbidden televisual delights to a thrilled adolescent audience (well, a couple of us hunched in front of the old black & white valved behemoth that dominated my bedroom after my parents finally upgraded to a Ferguson, anyway)?
The reality was, of course, tragically different. In fairness, there was a certain level of nudity - even, oh happy day, the occasional triangle of the non-red variety (although in low brightness-and-contrast mode on a b&w set you couldn't be totally sure).
But the payoff, to our impatient and hormonal young minds, required sitting through a seeming eternity of dull, obtuse (or on a couple of occasions downright alarming - Themroc, anyone?) arthouse meanderings. No cringe-inducing embarrassment at discovery here, luckily I was already turned off.
Boys: you two must start blogging. Top draw writing. Excellent!
